Product & Service development is such a challenging element of building and growing a business. It takes so so so much work to get clear on what you are doing, why you are doing it and how you want to do it let alone actually doing whatever that you do.
Regardless of your business type, being a product business, a distribution business, a product & service business or a service only business the issues are all the same.
If you're thinking of what is a product & service business - then there are examples like bike stores who sell bikes and service them. I would call a toyshop a distribution business because that is the business model and while there might be some element of service the business model is really about distribution.
Anyway - working out what you want the product & service to be like AND continuously improving this is all about you and what do you want, what is important to you and how do you want to do it. Ultimately this requires a huge amount of self awareness, critical thinking and knowledge about what you are aiming to achieve. You have to expect that of yourself before you can expect that of any of your staff.
Within this section we'll cover related topics about design and development of ideas and how to bring them to life.
If after all this you're still clueless about what's going to go on here, just think about the process of creating an iPhone from nothing, how to design a car for sale in 10 years time because that's how long it takes to design it and build the appropriate manufacturing. Then translates that into simple issues such as service development of an accounting business or a local cheese manufacturing & distribution company and you'll start to see how creating something from nothing has many similar issues regardless of the perceived size and complexity of the challenge.
